Hit the Road for the Bluegrass Yarn & Fiber Crawl!

By Sarabeth Parido

July 24 – August 2, 2026

It's time to start planning your summer fiber adventure!

The Bluegrass Yarn & Fiber Crawl returns July 24 through August 2, inviting fiber enthusiasts from across Kentucky and beyond to explore some of the region's most unique yarn shops, fiber farms, studios, mills, and artisan businesses. Whether you're a knitter, crocheter, spinner, weaver, felter, dyer, or simply someone who appreciates handmade textiles, this is an event you won't want to miss.

What is a Fiber Crawl?

Think of it as a road trip designed especially for fiber lovers. Over ten days, participants travel throughout the Bluegrass region, visiting participating locations and discovering the people, animals, and businesses that make Kentucky's fiber community so special.

Hosted by the Kentucky Fiber Trail, the crawl highlights the incredible network of wool producers, fiber artists, retailers, educators, agritourism destinations, and small businesses that contribute to Kentucky's growing fiber industry.

Each stop on the crawl offers its own unique experience. You may find locally dyed yarns, handcrafted fiber tools, spinning demonstrations, farm tours, sheep and alpacas, weaving studios, fiber classes, special discounts, or exclusive crawl merchandise. Every location has something different to offer, making each stop a new adventure.

Plan Your Journey

Participating locations will set their own hours throughout the event, allowing visitors to customize their crawl experience. Whether you have a single afternoon available or want to spend the entire ten days exploring, you can create a route that fits your schedule.

Be sure to review each location's posted hours and visitor guidelines before your trip. Some farms and studios may have specific biosecurity measures or visitor policies in place to protect livestock and ensure a safe experience for everyone.

Collect Stamps and Win Prizes

One of the most exciting parts of the crawl is collecting stamps in your Fiber Crawl Passport. As you travel from stop to stop, you'll gather stamps, meet fellow fiber enthusiasts, and create memories along the way.

Participants can also submit photos from their adventures, enter contests, and become eligible for prize drawings throughout the event. Don't forget to share your journey on social media and connect with other crawlers along the route.

Become a Crawl Stop

Are you a yarn shop owner, fiber farmer, mill operator, fiber artist, or maker with a fiber-related business? We'd love to have you join the Bluegrass Yarn & Fiber Crawl as a participating stop! The crawl is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your products, connect with new customers, and become part of a growing network of fiber enthusiasts across Kentucky and the surrounding region. Whether you operate a storefront, studio, farm, or home-based fiber business, participating in the crawl helps highlight the incredible diversity and talent within our fiber community. If you're interested in opening your doors and sharing your passion for fiber arts, we encourage you to sign up and become part of this year's adventure.  Kentucky Fiber Trail members can participate in the crawl for free-

Whether you're traveling with friends, planning a solo fiber getaway, or introducing a family member to the world of fiber arts, the crawl offers something for everyone.

Mark your calendars for July 24 through August 2,  2026- grab your passport, and get ready to explore the Bluegrass one fiber stop at a time. We can't wait to see where the trail takes you!
