Get ready to pack your project bags and hit the road! The 4th Annual Bluegrass Yarn & Fiber Crawl, hosted by the Kentucky Fiber Trail, runs from July 25 through August 3, 2025 — and this year’s crawl promises even more fiber-filled fun, friendly faces, and unique shopping than ever before.

Whether you're a knitter, spinner, weaver, or simply fiber-curious, the crawl is your invitation to explore some of the most creative and welcoming yarn shops, fiber farms, and studios across the Bluegrass and beyond. With no participation fee, just your passport (downloadable from the website), a tank of gas, and a love for all things fiber, you're ready to go!


Here’s a sneak peek at the incredible stops on the crawl — grouped by region to help you plan your journey.


Northern Kentucky Favorites

  • 2 Point Farm Alpacas – Dry Ridge, KY Meet the alpacas and feel the silky softness of their locally grown Suri alpaca yarns. They offer roving, raw fleece, hand-dyed yarns, and even a prize drawing for shoppers!


  • Eagle Bend Yarn Shop – Burlington, KY This historic alpaca farm and yarn shop stocks a wide variety of commercial and local yarns, including Berroco, Malabrigo, and more, plus yarn from their own alpacas and sheep.

  • Stitch Fiber Studio – Covington, KY Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati’s “happy landing place” for fiber lovers! This studio is a welcoming and inspiring stop for knitters, crocheters, and anyone who loves yarn.

  • Click Fibers – Commiskey, IN A Southern Indiana gem with Shetland sheep, wool workshops, and a variety of fiber goods straight from the source.


  • Goodshipp Alpaca Co. - Brooks, KY A family run alpaca farm and farm store.


  • Louisville Fiber Supply – Louisville, KY Modern and sustainable, this shop stocks U.S.-produced yarns and fabrics, along with tools and notions. Don’t miss their Wednesday craft night!


  • Over the Next Row Knits – Prospect, KY This bright shop is full of trendy yarns and handmade gift items in the heart of Norton Commons. You'll want to linger!


Lexington Area Charm

  • Punkin’s Patch at Equinox Farm – Cynthiana, KY Follow the journey from sheep to shawl on this small fiber farm. Visit the animals and enjoy demonstrations throughout the crawl.


  • ReBelle – Lexington, KY A vibrant shop full of color and inspiration. Known for indie dyers like Madeline Tosh and Emma’s Yarns.


  • Sarabee Designs & Fiber Farm – Winchester, KY Meet the sheep, shop the fiber, and check out hand-forged tools from Shepherd’s Forge. It’s a full family affair!


  • Violet Hill Farm – Lexington, KY The only farm in Kentucky with fine Merino sheep! Visit for fiber demos, meet the alpacas, and learn about climate-smart farming.


Frankfort Area Finds

Central Kentucky Spotlight

  • Merry Go Round Farm – Berea, KY Home to Shetland sheep and Angora goats, offering lovely wool, mohair, and hand-dyed yarns, plus raw fleece and roving.

  • Plum Creek Alpacas – Bradfordsville, KY A top-tier alpaca farm and gift shop, ranked 5th in the U.S. as a 2025 National Small Breeder Fleece Farm. Specializing in high-quality alpaca fiber and warm hospitality.

This year’s crawl is more than a shopping trip — it’s a celebration of Kentucky’s fiber community, where farmers, dyers, shop owners, and crafters come together to share their passion.
