The 2025 Kentucky Sheep and Fiber Festival Returns May 17–18

The countdown is on! The 2025 Kentucky Sheep and Fiber Festival is just around the corner, taking place next month—May 17–18—at Masterson Station Park in Lexington. As we prepare to celebrate our 15th year, we’re excited to continue building on the traditions that have made this event so special!

For those who are new to the festival, the Kentucky Sheep and Fiber Festival was created to showcase the state’s rich farming heritage and promote the art of working with natural fibers. Over the years, it has grown into a vibrant event that brings together producers, artisans, crafters, educators, and fiber enthusiasts from across the region and beyond.

Hands-On Fiber Workshops

Our workshops are a core part of the festival experience, offering participants the opportunity to learn new skills or refine their craft. Led by experienced instructors, sessions will cover a wide range of fiber arts, including spinning, knitting, weaving, felting, dyeing, and more. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced maker, there’s something for everyone.  Workshops are filling up fast- you can find more information on our website:  www.kentuckyshepeandfiber.com/workshops

A Diverse Vendor Marketplace

Browse a wide selection of vendors offering everything from hand-dyed yarns and spinning fibers to tools, kits, and finished items. It’s an excellent opportunity to discover unique, high-quality goods while supporting local small businesses and independent makers.

Livestock Exhibits

The Livestock Tent offers a chance to see and learn about the animals behind the fiber. Sheep, goats, and alpacas from local Kentucky farms will be on display, showcasing the diversity of breeds and the farmers who raise them. It’s an educational and engaging experience for visitors of all ages.

Local Food and Live Demonstrations

Enjoy delicious offerings from local food vendors as you explore the festival grounds. Throughout the weekend, there will be ongoing demonstrations of traditional fiber arts techniques, including sheep shearing, natural dyeing, and more. These hands-on displays help bring the full fiber journey to life—from farm to finished product.

The Kentucky Sheep and Fiber Festival is more than just a marketplace—it’s a celebration of community, craftsmanship, and Kentucky’s agricultural legacy. We look forward to welcoming you to Masterson Station Park in May for a weekend of learning, shopping, and inspiration.
