OBSERVATION

1. All animals will be available for observation by appointment only from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (EDT), Tuesday, May 3 through Friday, May 16, 2025.

2. Potential buyers can call Matthew Hamilton (859-473-1300) or LeeAnn Jacks (859-494-8115) to schedule appointments.

3. Sheep for sale will be located in barn pens for observation.

4. Ewes, within a breed and age group, will be observed as a group.  Selection of 5 or more animals from a group will be at random (gate-cut).

5. Rams, within a breed and age group, will be observed as a group.  If a potential buyer requests an individual ram be sorted from the group for observation, Sheep Unit personnel will do so. 

 

PURCHASE

1. The sale will open at 8:00 a.m. (EDT) Tuesday, May 20 and will remain open until 3:30 p.m. (EDT) Friday, May 23, 2025.

2. To request the purchase of one or more sheep, call Matthew Hamilton (859-473-1300) or LeeAnn Jacks (859-494-8115).  Identification of individual or groups of animals requested for purchase will be made during the phone call with Matthew or LeeAnn.

3. Priorities of purchase will be made on the basis of "first-come-first-serve” phone calls.

 

 

PAYMENT / PICKUP

1. Purchased animals can be picked up, at the time of payment (by check only), from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. (EDT) on Tuesday May 27 through Friday May 30, 2025.

2. Payment and pickup of purchased animals will be done by appointment only with Matthew Hamilton (859-473-1300).

3. At pickup, buyers will drive to the loading area at the end of Lambing Barn.

Sheep Unit personnel will load purchased animals. 

1. After animals are loaded, drive to the front of the Sheep Unit and remain outside of the office building.  Sheep Unit personnel will process payments; receipts will be provided upon request.
