2026 University of Kentucky Fall Lambing School

Location:  C. Oran Little Research Center Sheep Unit, 1171 Midway Road, Versailles, KY 40383

Time: Class will begin at 10:00 a.m. (EDT) and will be completed at 3:00 p.m.

​

Cost: There is no registration fee. Registration limited to 25 people!

Please wear pants and close-toed shoes. 

​

This school is designed for new and prospective sheep producers, but seasoned shepherds are welcome to attend to hone their shepherding skills. Subject matter covered by University of Kentucky faculty and staff will include pregnancy management, normal and abnormal parturition, care of the ewe and her newborns, metabolic disorders, lactation nutrition, and other shepherding techniques required to effectively produce lambs and wool.
